Donald Trump, the former U.S. President, is set to attend the Bitcoin conference in Nashville, Tennessee, despite a recent assassination attempt. The three-day conference, taking place from July 25-27 at the Music City Center, has confirmed Trump’s participation. David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine and organizer of the event, has spoken with Trump’s team and confirmed that the former president is in good spirits and excited to take part in the highly-anticipated Bitcoin event.
Initially, there were concerns among conference organizers and attendees regarding potential changes to the lineup of high-profile speakers following the security incident in Pennsylvania on July 13. However, it seems that Trump’s newfound openness towards Bitcoin is part of a larger strategy to appeal to a younger, tech-savvy voter base as he gears up for the 2024 presidential election. During a recent fundraiser in San Francisco, Trump expressed his support for the U.S. Bitcoin industry and highlighted the importance of Bitcoin mining by American companies.
Alongside Trump, the Nashville Bitcoin Conference will feature a lineup of esteemed speakers, including whistleblower Edward Snowden, comedian Russell Brand, independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood, and MicroStrategy’s Michael Saylor. Trump’s 30-minute speech, scheduled for July 27, will center around his vision for the future of Bitcoin in the United States and his plans to support the industry if he is re-elected.
Interestingly, despite the confirmed news of Trump’s involvement in the conference, Trump-themed crypto tokens experienced a slight decline in value. The MAGA token, for instance, saw a significant drop of 7.05%, with its price falling to $7.84. Similarly, the BABYTRUMP token experienced a decrease of 44.84%, settling at $1.58 over a 24-hour period. However, the Trump Card token (TARD) showed more stability with only a minor decrease of 0.34%, reaching $7.49.
