Semler Scientific Confirms Bitcoin Acquisition
Semler Scientific confirmed it bought 111 Bitcoin since February 14. The healthcare technology company said the average price for this Semler Scientific Bitcoin purchase was about $90,000 per coin. This latest acquisition boosted the Semler Scientific BTC holdings to more than 3,300 Bitcoin, now valued at approximately $300 million.
Bitcoin Yield Increases
Alongside the new purchase, Semler Scientific reported a 23.5% increase in its Bitcoin yield since the start of 2024. The Semler Scientific Bitcoin yield measures the ratio of Bitcoin held compared to outstanding shares, showing the growing Bitcoin exposure per share.
Semler Scientific stated,

Bitcoin Treasury Acquisition and Market Performance
The company acquired its Bitcoin treasury at an average price of around $89,000. As of April 25, Bitcoin price data from Cointelegraph shows Bitcoin trading near $95,000 per coin.
Stock Issuance Supports Bitcoin Holdings Growth
To finance its growing Bitcoin treasury, Semler Scientific issued about $125 million in new stock. In January, it also revealed plans to raise another $75 million through a private offering of convertible senior notes. These funds helped Semler Scientific expand its Bitcoin treasury without impacting its operational focus.
Semler Scientific’s Core Business
Semler Scientific primarily operates in the healthcare technology sector. It develops and sells medical diagnostic products with a strong focus on detecting chronic diseases. Despite its healthcare specialization, the company continues to integrate Bitcoin acquisitions into its corporate strategy.
The healthcare company emphasized that Bitcoin acquisition is now part of its corporate treasury management plan, aligning stockholder interests with Bitcoin exposure.
Corporate Bitcoin Buying Reaches $71 Billion in 2024
Semler Scientific’s move reflects a broader increase in corporate Bitcoin buying. According to BitcoinTreasuries.NET, public companies now hold about $71 billion in total Bitcoin holdings as of April 25.
MicroStrategy Leads in Corporate Bitcoin Holdings
Among public companies, Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) remains the leader. Strategy added 6,556 Bitcoin during the week of April 14, purchasing them at an average price of $84,785 per coin. The company’s Bitcoin treasury now exceeds $50 billion.
Although corporate Bitcoin buying is growing, corporate Bitcoin treasuries still lag behind Bitcoin ETFs. Based on Coinglass data, Bitcoin ETFs collectively hold nearly $110 billion worth of Bitcoin as of April 25.
Semler Scientific’s latest Bitcoin purchase comes as more companies add Bitcoin to their treasuries while ETFs maintain the largest overall holdings.
